Types of Japanese courses

Japanese language schools offer a variety of courses, which fall into two main categories.

Japanese conversation
These courses focus on speaking. Hiragana and Katakana will be used in all Japanese classes.
Beginners start with greetings, self-introductions, and simple phrases. It is then followed by question phrases used in everyday situations.
As you progress, there will be more vocabulary and phrases. Kanji will start coming in too.

Japanese Language Proficiency Test
There are five levels in the JLPT. Each stage consists of all four elements, listening, speaking, reading and writing.
When applying for a job in Japan, employers will assess your proficiency in the Japanese language based on your JLPT level. Candidates are expected to have achieved at least a JLPT N3 level.
