Conditions to apply for Vocational College

For international students to qualify for Vocational College entry, a similar condition to the Japanese students apply.

 Students must have

  • 12-year education in their home country.
  • High school graduation certificate or equivalent

Certificates such as A-levels or Baccalaureate are equivalent proof of documents.

Additionally, international students must have high Japanese language skills. Obtain either

  • Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) at N2 or
  • Japanese Business Proficiency Test above 400 points (BJPT)

Qualified students will go through the interview. Depending on the course, students will prepare a portfolio.

What’s in the Japanese Foundation Course?

Japanese Foundation Course facilitates the basic business studies of a specific industry. The Foundation Course aims to achieve the Japanese language skills required as a professional of that industry. Therefore, students will begin with JLPT studies. At N3 level, join a specially designed programme of your choice.

In this programme, students will continue with the JLPT study, aiming to achieve N2.  Simultaneously, explore business knowledge of that industry. It includes learning vocabulary and phrases used in that sector. Together, practical exercises will come in, where you build the skills. Furthermore, outings are to experience the culture and to learn more about the industry.

Each programme provides a step to becoming a specialist. On completion of the Foundation Course, your future options broaden. You may either progress into further studies at Vocational College or straight into a career.
